Internship Program 2023-2024

  • Department: Engineering
  • Education Level: High school diploma and pursuing a BS in civil or geotechnical engineering. The ideal candidate will have less than one year remaining to complete their BS or MS degree.
  • Experience Level: Training will be provided

General Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Works under the supervision of a project manager
  • Perform site visits
  • Assist in preparing field investigation work plan
  • Coordinate and execute geotechnical field investigation
    • Logging of soil and rock test borings
    • Collection of laboratory soil and rock samples
    • Prepare daily field reports
    • Daily transfer of samples from site to the office
  • Assist in preparing and submiting laboratory assignment
  • Assist in developing the scope of work for routine projects
  • Assist in data interpretation and perform calculations for preparation of geotechnical reports
  • Assist in preparation of geotechnical proposals and reports
  • Prepare plan sheets using CAD and/or GIS
  • Follow safety rules and guidelines
